Common ground

The contributors of this website share a common ground: the appeal. This appeal contains the basic statements that unite us (e.g. for a social Europe, against racism, for peace,...). Of course, this common ground is also open to discussion and could evolve with the members' contributions.

Basic rules

Any page can be freely edited: log in and use the "edit" tab.
Freedom of expression (this does not allow you to be rude).
Respect for others' views. If you disagree with a contribution, do not delete it, but make your own contribution or use the "discussion" tab: there you can exchange points of view with the author. Do not forget to sign.

Page titles

As we are working in a multilingual environment, it is necessary to have equivalent pages in different languages. For this reason, we need standardized page names and every page name should have a language identifier.

So if you create a page called Example page, you should give it the name Example page EN or Example page DE or Example page NL - where EN, DE, NL are the abbreviations for the languages as they are used on the main portal (CS . DA . DE . ET . EL . EN . ES . EO . FI . FR . IT . LV . LT . HU . MT . NL . PL . PT . SK . SL . SV).

Quite a few pages have a language identifier between brackets. We decided to change this rule because brackets appear as %28 and %29 in URL addresses. Any new page should be given a language identifier without brackets.

The main part of the title should be the same in every language (English was chosen because it is spoken by many of us), only the language identifier should change: Example page EN and Example page FR are correct but Page d'exemple FR is not.

You can hide the language identifier in a link by replacing [[Example page EN]] by [[Example page EN|Go to the example page]] to view it as Go to the example page.

Templates

On the top of every page, we put a template in order to be able to switch easily from one version of the page to another (e.g. from the French to the German version). This template looks like DE . EN . ES . FR . NL
and is coded {{name of template}}. In order to edit a template, you use the following URL: .../index.php/Template:nameoftemplate.
